Tom recently joined Hulse & Germano with 33 years
of experience in civil litigation, real estate, probate
and business law. For the past decade, he was a senior
trial attorney and then managing partner for the defense
firm of Scattergood & Hendershot in Mt. Laurel,
NJ. Prior to that, Tom was in private practice with
Queenan & Scattergood in Burlington, NJ primarily
representing plaintiffs. Tom has represented both plaintiffs
and defendants in diverse and complex cases in the areas
of personal injury, fire, construction, environmental,
real estate and property damage matters earning him
the designation of Certified Civil Trial Attorney by
the NJ Supreme Court. In 2002, Tom took a leave from
the practice of law to be an Assistant Professor of
Torts and Personal Injury Litigation, Business Law and
Real Estate Law at a local community college. Tom has
also gained invaluable insight as a Municipal Court
Judge conducting thousands of trials over a 20 year
period of his career. With this experience, Tom has
recently focused his practice in the area of ADR by
serving as an Arbitrator, particularly as a "neutral"
for UM/UIM and PIP cases, and Mediator and is listed
on the AOC Roster of Qualified and Approved Mediators.
A graduate of Audubon High School, Tom earned a B.S.
in Commerce from Rider University, an Ed.M. from Temple
University School of Education and his J.D. from Temple
University School of Law. He is a member of the Burlington
County Bar Association, Cape May County Bar Association
and the NJ Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM).
He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the
American Red Cross, Burlington County Chapter, as a
volunteer/coach of the Philadelphia Rowing Program for
the Disabled (PRPD), the Burlington County Military
Affairs Committee (BC/MAC) and the Burlington City Chamber
of Commerce.
