Most people first experience
the judicial system in municipal court, which handles
a variety of minor criminal matters including disorderly
persons, motor vehicle violations, and municipal ordinance
violations such as building and property maintenance
code violations. Though they address matters which are
classified as minor, municipal courts play an important
role and can impose serious penalties including six
months jail time, permanent loss of driving privileges,
or other fines and costs.
The attorneys at Hulse & Germano have,
at different times in their careers, been municipal
court judges, municipal prosecutors, public defenders
(both county and municipal court) and have about 100
years of combined experience in representing both individuals
and businesses in municipal courts. When our clients
face matters in municipal court, the important thing
we stress is that intelligent legal advice is a must
in all but the most routine and inconsequential matters.
